The Adriatic right on our doorstep is perfect for exploring from the water. Whether a spontaneous half-day trip to the nearest bay or a multi-day island tour – in Biograd na Moru, just a few minutes away, you'll find one of the highest concentrations of marinas in Croatia and everything you need for your boat trip.

An absolute highlight for a full-day boat trip are the Kornati islands – the largest archipelago in the Adriatic, with over 140 barren, untouched islands and islets. Numerous day trips depart directly from the harbour in Sveti Filip i Jakov or Biograd na Moru, usually including lunch, a stop at Telašćica Nature Park with its salt lake, and plenty of time to swim in the crystal-clear water. A day that pushes every camera to its limits.

Krka National Park (approx. 1 hr) – Turquoise waterfalls, wooden walkways through the forest, boat tour from Skradin

Skradinski Buk – The most famous waterfall in Krka, easily accessible, a crowd favourite

Roški Slap – A quieter part of the national park with a cave, less crowded

Kornati National Park (boat trip) – The most barren island archipelago in the Adriatic, reachable only by boat

Telašćica Nature Park (Dugi Otok) – Steep cliffs, salt lake, viewpoints

Paklenica National Park (approx. 1 hr) – Gorges, via ferratas, caves in the Velebit mountains

Vransko jezero / Vrana Lake Nature Park (10 min) – Croatia's largest natural lake, birdwatching, hiking and cycling trails

Vidikovac Kamenjak – A spectacular viewpoint over the lake and the Kornati islands

If, alongside beach and sea, you also fancy culture, history and vibrant city life, you don't have to travel far. These three towns are all within a comfortable 45-minute drive at most:

Zadar (approx. 25 min) – The secret capital of northern Dalmatia enchants with its 3,000-year-old old town, Roman ruins and the world-unique attractions of the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun. Sitting on the waterfront promenade at sunset and listening to the Sea Organ is one of the finest experiences in Dalmatia.

Biograd na Moru (approx. 10 min) – The charming harbour town right next door was once the coronation city of Croatian kings. Today it draws visitors with a lively beach promenade, one of the largest marinas in the Adriatic and a cosy old-town centre perfect for a relaxed evening stroll.

Nin (approx. 40 min) – One of the oldest Croatian royal towns, picturesquely set on a small island amid lagoons and salt pans. A historic town gate, the smallest cathedral in the world and the famous Nin salt pans turn the trip into a journey through time – combined with one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the region right on the town's doorstep.

Dalmaland – Water Fun for the Whole Family

On hot summer days, the Dalmaland water park is the perfect day out for the whole family. Just a few minutes from Sveti Filip i Jakov, you'll find fast water slides, large pools, a wave pool and numerous water attractions for children and adults alike.

While the little ones let off steam on the varied play and water areas, adults can relax in the spacious sunbathing zones or simply enjoy the day together as a family. Restaurants, cafés and snack bars right in the park take care of food and drinks.

Tennis fans will be in their element in the region around Sveti Filip i Jakov – several well-kept facilities are located nearby. The three courts closest to the house:

Tennis Centre Ilirija, Biograd na Moru – approx. 3 km / 5 minutes

Tenis centar Pauk, Pakoštane – approx. 7 km / 10 minutes

Teniski centar Višnjik, Zadar – approx. 25 km / 25 minutes

Whether a spontaneous match or regular training on holiday – there's a suitable court here for every level.

The coastal road between Sveti Filip i Jakov, Turanj and Sv. Petar na moru is one of the most beautiful cycling routes in the region – flat, right along the sea and ideal for both leisurely family tours and ambitious cyclists. Rental and e-bikes are available, among other places, at the Biograd Tourist Agency right by the harbour.

For those looking for a bit more variety: you can easily take your bike across to the island of Pašman by ferry – island hopping by bike through quiet villages, past olive groves and with panoramic views of the open sea, far from the tourist bustle of the coast.

Explore Zadar's old town – the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Underwater Archaeology or the Museum of Illusions make for entertaining hours indoors

Shopping & café culture – strolling through Zadar's lanes with their cafés, boutiques and small shops

Go-kart track or Adventure Park – covered or weather-protected areas provide action even in the rain
